Dear Stakeholders,
In April, Los Angeles City Planning released a revised draft of the
Wildlife District Ordinance with the goal of having it heard by the City Planning Commission in the fall of 2022. Next week, the Department will hold a public hearing on the proposed ordinance. This is your opportunity to record a public comment with a hearing officer.
The Wildlife District Proposal includes a code amendment to create a new Wildlife Supplemental Use District (WLD) and a zone change to apply the District regulations to the zoning of properties identified on the ordinance map, in the area approximately bounded by the 405 and 101 freeways, Ventura Blvd. and Sunset Blvd. An
interactive version of this map, which allows you to search by address and view ridgeline and resource buffers, is available on the City Planning website.
An interactive map of the Wildlife District, the draft ordinance, and more information can be found on the project webpage at
planning4la.org/wildlife. Los Angeles City Planning held an information session on the ordinance on June 28. Recordings from that presentation and Q&A are now available on the Wildlife
Outreach and Events webpage. Participants are encouraged to view the recordings prior to the hearing. Additional responses to frequently asked questions will be posted to the website.
